Danny Briere is director of the Entrepreneurship Center on campus and the Innovation Center in Hartford. He focuses on supporting student, faculty, staff, alumni, and partner innovation and entrepreneurial efforts, whether building mindsets and skills or helping actually launch products and companies into the market. He graduated from Trinity College of Arts and Sciences at Duke University in 1983, with a B.A. in Economics and Public Policy, then earned a masters degree in Business Administration (MDA) from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business in 1985.

He is a serial and parallel innovator and entrepreneur with more than 15 patents in the fields of software processes and medical devices, and has started his own or co-founded nearly a dozen companies in his 40-year entrepreneurial career. He started his first company out of coursework at Duke in entrepreneurship.

He is heavily focused on hands-on experiential learning and working with a massive network of successful entrepreneurs willing to give back to students and help them on their innovative and entrepreneurial adventures. He believes that all students benefit from innovative and entrepreneurial mindsets, regardless of their ultimate major and career journey.
