Jeff Bemiss began his filmmaking career as an undergraduate in cinema production at the University of Southern California film school. After graduating, he spent two years studying acting under Martin Barter, Sanford Meisner's protégé and assistant of 14 years. As a teacher, he believes studying influential films and learning to create films helps students develop informed, personal standards of media consumption-a requirement for responsible citizenship in the 21st century. At Trinity, Jeff will serve as Guest Filmmaker in the fall of 2013. He is the writer-director of The Book and the Rose, which was short-listed for an Oscar in 2003. He is preparing to shoot the feature film A Long Tomorrow, which is based on a story by Jack Finney, in Connecticut next year.  Jeff is also in progress on a documentary entitled The Boy in the Box, about migrant crosser deaths on U.S. soil near the Mexican border.
