As a graduate teaching assistant at Syracuse University, Richard Bartels taught both theoretical and applied calculus courses. He was instructor of record for Calculus I during the spring 2024 and fall 2023 semesters, and Calculus III during the summers of 2020, 2021, and 2022. He was also instructor of record for Calculus for the Life Sciences II in the spring and fall of 2022.
Richard strives to foster a culture of intellectual curiosity, respect, and student-centered learning in his classes. Through their study of mathematics, Richard wants to help his students learn skills that will benefit them in their majors and careers, and gain an appreciation for the inherent beauty and goodness of mathematics.
