A native of France, Isabel Evelein holds a Masters in Langues Etrangères Appliquées with a dual specialization in Business and Translation from the Université de Grenoble, and an MS in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University at Albany, SUNY. She completed her doctoral coursework in Educational Theory and Practice at Albany, focusing on the effects of innovative technology designs on second language learning. From her experiences working as a professional translator and conducting research in the fields of instructional design and language acquisition, she has gained a deep understanding of language learning processes that she applies to her pedagogy. 

With a broad teaching background, she joined the Trinity faculty in 2007. She teaches language, culture and conversation courses. In her classes, she combines a systematic, progressive approach to learning language, with materials and situations that are relevant to students’ lives. Her ultimate goal is to spark in her students a lasting curiosity in the French-speaking world.
