Ruoxing Gao is an electrical engineering researcher and educator who loves helping students discover why engineering works, not just how. Her interests include electromagnetics, antennas, and photonic structures, with an emphasis on learning through modeling, simulation, and hands-on experiments.
She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and has worked on projects ranging from NASA remote sensing to real-world antenna and biomedical applications. In her classes and labs, she encourages students to ask questions, try things out, and learn from mistakes, because curiosity is the most important engineering skill.
If you’re curious about how theory turns into something you can build, measure, or test, you’re already thinking like an engineer.
