Valeria Jiménez earned her Ph.D in Economics from the University Sorbonne Paris North in 2025. She began her academic career as a researcher and lecturer at the Berlin School of Economics and Law in 2020 after concluding the masters program Economic Policies in the Age of Globalisation (EPOG). Her research interests include macroeconomics, international economics, ecological economics, development economics and political economy.

Valeria has taught macroeconomics and ecological economics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes reflection, creative inquiry, and critical thinking. In her classes, she strives for student curiosity and engagement, encourages open dialogue, and presents pluralist perspectives within the field of economics.
