Rebecca Beebe has been teaching at the University of Connecticut since 2000. Rebecca completed her PhD in December of 2010. Her dissertation examined the relationship between community violence exposure in Hartford, CT with the mental health of adolescent boys at the Hartford Juvenile Detention Center.

Rebecca’s teaching focuses around examining the assumptions we make about our own lives and the lives of others; and challenges students to critique how those assumptions may affect our behavior. Rebecca emphasizes embracing cultural relativism and respecting the different ways of living around the world.
