Degrees:
B.A., Trinity College

Hanae Bouazza started her educational journey in the United States in 2014 when she came as an international student from Morocco. She enrolled at Tunxis Community College where she majored in business administration. She graduated Tunixis in 2016 valedictorian of her class with an associate degree in business administration, a certificate in accounting, and a certificate in finance. To Hanae’s delight, she was admitted at Trinity College where she joined the IDP program as an economics major. Adding mathematics as a second major along the way, she was named President’s fellow for the mathematics department for the 2019-2020 academic year. She graduated Trinity with a bachelor’s in economics and mathematics in 2020.

Thinking that her lucky strike could not continue any longer, Hanae was agreeably surprised to learn that she was accepted to the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a PhD student in economics. During her coursework there, she grew an interest in macroeconomics and econometrics which are the two fields she continues working on. Currently, she is working with Robert Pollin as a research assistant on a project that aims to explain the current worldwide inflation.
