Rob Rothblatt has devoted a 30+ year Architectural career to promoting the unending and limitless world of architectural ideas, our cultural imaginations and promoting progressive solutions. He has an extensive award-winning and published background as Designer/Team Leader and Mentor on significant civic, institutional and infrastructure projects. Many of these buildings are of communal sensitivity and import, revitalizing urban areas, helping underserved communities, often including advanced sustainability, and landscape. All attempt to find lyric expression from fundamental decisions of Program and Experience.

He is the designer of Golden1, the world’s first LEED Platinum Arena for the Sacramento Kings.

As an educator, from years at UCLA Extension, as a full-time Professor at University of Kentucky, and recently at CUNY, Rob has plumbed the transformations of architecture as an ecumenical evangelist for ever-changing modern world.  As a native Californian, Rob has had a particular study interest in the Arcadian and Utopian CA pioneers, including Richard Neutra, Rudolf Schindler, Harwell Harris, Raphael Soriano, Albert Frey, etal.  This interest led to a series of unparalleled study tours with the Society of Architectural Historians LA Chapter (largest in the country), including 2 tours to Sarasota to study Paul Rudolph and his influence.  The seminal “Beyond the Bauhaus” tour in Boston, done with help from Harvard GSD, toured largely forgotten masterpieces by Walter Gropius, Walter Bognar, TAC, G. Holmes Perkins, and compared it to the renaissance in Los Angeles.

Architecture for all!
