Mary Rickel Pelletier initiates new strategies for environmentally sensitive design projects that conserve and revitalize natural resources within cities. She is Founding Director of Park Watershed, a 501c3 urban-suburban environmental stewardship organization for the Park River regional watershed. Her work currently involves a wide range of collaborations with interdisciplinary design professionals, scientists, cultural historians, citizens, non-profits and government agencies.

In 1998, as Visiting Architectural Design Advisor, at the Rhode Island School of Design, Mary outlined the new challenges of high-performance green building technology in her studio, 'Giving Sustainable Design Critical Edge'. She worked as an Adjunct Architectural Design Studio Critic at the University of Kansas, School of Architecture between 1987 and 1992.
