Jean Davis-Smith has over 30 years of dance experience concentrating in traditional African and Caribbean cultural dances. She also has tap, hip hop, inspirational, and ballet experience.
She is an instructor, dancer, choreographer, and educator. She has studied, choreographed, and performed for The Artists Collective, FriendZWorldMusic, The Cultural Dance Troupe of the West Indies, Sankofa Kuumba Cultural Arts Consortium, Fotoba West African Dance Co., and other groups.
She has taught the Trinity College Morning Movement four-class session (fall spring). She has also taught at the The Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, The Taft School in Waterbury, The Institute of Jamaica in Kingston, Jamaica, The Artists Collective in Hartford, and at many other locations in the Hartford community. She led a summer program, Rhythm Fusion, in 2017.
