Hasan Cömert received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2011.  Cömert’s research interests include Macroeconomics, International Economics, Financial Economics, International Finance, Central Banking, Emerging Markets and Turkish Economy. He has thought many undergraduate and graduate courses including Topics in International Macroeconomics, Central Banking and Financial Markets, Monetary Theory and Policy, and World Economy. Among others, he is the author of Central Banks and Financial Markets: The Declining Power of US Monetary Policy (published by Edward Elgar in 2013) and he is the co-author of (with Rex McKenzie) The Global South after the Crisis, published by Edward Elgar.

Cömert has published several articles in Turkish and in English at peer reviewed journals including Cambridge Journal of Economics. Professor Cömert has contributed as a researcher to different working packages of FESSUD and FEUTURE, European Union funded projects conducted by the consortiums of many universities.
