Pablo Delano was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He has taught at Trinity since 1996. Delano currently serves as the Charles A. Dana Professor of Fine Arts at Trinity College, and is a co-founder of Trinity’s Center for Caribbean Studies. He has taught at The City University of New York (Hostos Community College), Montclair State University, The International Center of Photography (NYC), Dartmouth College and Brandeis University, where he served as the Madeleine Haas Russell Visiting Professor (2015-16). At James Madison University, he was the Dorothy Liskey Wampler Distinguished Art Professor (2021-22). During the fall 2024, he served as Visiting Post-Colonial Critic at the Yale University School of Art.
Pablo Delano has published three monographic books of photography. His recent work was included in the 60th Biennale di Venezia, Foreigners Everywhere, curated by Adriano Pedrosa (2024). Recent solo exhibitions include Embajada Gallery, San Juan (2025), The New Britain Museum of American Art (2026) and The São Paulo Museum of Art / MASP (2026).
