C. Charles Mate-Kole, PhD is Professor of Psychology and the Founding Director of the Centre for Ageing Studies, College of Humanities. He is Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist at the Department of Psychiatry, UG Medical School, University of Ghana.
He is Professor Emeritus, Psychology at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), New Britain, Connecticut. He is the Founding Director of the Centre for Africana Studies, CCSU.
Professor Mate-Kole’s previous appointments include Head of Department, Department of Psychology University of Ghana, Geroneuropsychologist at Camp Hill Medical Center and Neuropsychologist Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada), Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Adjunct Clinical Professor of Psychology, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Research Psychologist and Clinical Assistant in Psychiatry at the Gender Identity Clinic, Department of Psychiatry, Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School (now Imperial College School of Medicine), London. His research is primarily in Neuropsychology, especially ageing, dementia, traumatic brain injury, neurocognitive remediation; and development of a cognitive screening tool for detecting cognitive impairments and suspected brain dysfunction. Professor Mate-Kole has extensive publications to his credit. He is interested in non-pharmacological intervention in dementia and healthy aging. |
