Lori Watson received her B.S. from Florida Atlantic University where she studied mathematics and computer science. She received her Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Georgia, specializing in algebraic number theory, arithmetic geometry, and arithmetic statistics. After completing graduate school, Lori served as a postdoctoral fellow at Wake Forest University. Her research focuses on determining solutions to polynomial equations and on understanding families of algebraic curves. Lori believes that each student is capable of learning mathematics and she works to create an environment where students can gain the confidence to tackle new problems.
