Claire Fournier is a Lecturer and Lab Coordinator in the Biology Dept. for the introductory biology labs (Biology 182 & 183). She credits her desire to work with undergraduate students to her experiences during her academic career. As an undergraduate at University of Saint Joseph she was part of a student research project where she worked with a number of excellent mentors who encouraged her interest in research. This interest led her to attend graduate school at Wesleyan University where she mentored undergraduate students in the classroom and the laboratory. She has seen the benefits of inquiry-based instruction and study in understanding core biological concepts and strives to encourage students to think critically through her lectures and assignments. She is also interested in mentoring students in a research setting.
