Born in the USSR, Karry Sarkissian has a unique multicultural background in Soviet, post-Soviet and also Western European languages and cultures.

His approach to basic language courses French 102 and more advanced Russian 210 is both intercultural and highly practical.  Karry Sarkissian creates his syllabi with ample opportunities for students to participate. Students increase their proficiency in French and Russian in all four skill areas while dealing with many different types of content, and also exploring a variety of relevant intercultural issues.  By the end of the semester, students are prepared to tackle challenges such as taking courses abroad.
