Carol Clark is Associate Professor of Economics.  She teaches courses on the comparative economic history of cities, alternative economic systems, and theories of international trade.  In addition, she has taught for the Trinity-in-San-Francisco Summer Program, at Trinity College’s Rome Campus, in a short-term, visiting-faculty program in Saudi Arabia, and since 2005, has co-directed Trinity’s faculty-led summer economics program in Florence and central Italy.
 
Professor Clark formerly served as the faculty director for the Community Learning Initiative at Trinity College.  She has also served as a member of the Trinity Global Sites Committee, helped to co-organize the Global Scholars Conference series in the Economics Department, 1998, 2001-03, and from 2006-08 served as academic director-in-residence for the undergraduate general studies program, student research and community academic engagement at the Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy.
 
She was awarded the Arthur H. Hughes Award for Teaching Achievement in 1999 and has been the recipient of Foreign Language & Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships, an IREX summer research grant, a Social Science Research Council Fellowship (1997-1999), and Trinity College Research Grants.  Her work has appeared in Journal of Economic Issues, Communist and Post-Communist Studies, Economic Systems, and Post-Soviet Geography and Economics.
