Adi Katz is a Hebrew lecturer in the Department of Language and Culture Studies and a doctoral candidate in Modern Languages at Middlebury College. Her teaching philosophy is based on student-centered pedagogy, on acquiring knowledge through differentiated learning methods, on using authentic materials from Israeli culture, and on the ACTFL proficiency method. Among her interests are language acquisition, ideology, and the development of contemporary Hebrew. Katz’s prior research dealt with gender and nationalism in contemporary Palestinian art, and currently she is focusing on Israeli education from a sociological standpoint that is particularly indebted to Pierre Bourdieu's theories.

Katz has extensive teaching and administrative experience in the field of education. In addition to teaching Hebrew, she has taught Hebrew Literature and Hebrew Written and Oral Expression, worked as a teacher's team management, project-based learning mentor and instructor, and as an assistant to the Supervisor of the Alternative Evaluation Program in Israel’s Ministry of Education.
