9.04 Bloodborne Pathogens

Effective Date: April 1, 2010

Purpose:

The College takes measures to raise awareness and help reduce the risk of disease from bloodborne pathogens, as described below.

Procedure:

Trinity College’s Bloodborne Pathogens program, managed by the Health Center, includes a risk analysis of certain job classifications, training for at-risk employees, preventive measures, and a hepatitis B vaccination program. If an employee thinks he or she may be or have been exposed to a bloodborne pathogen while at work, they should immediately contact their supervisor, the Health Center, or the Safety Committee at safety@trincoll.edu for information on what to do and where to go for further assistance.
