Nathan originally hails from the West Coast and has worked in the field of forensic psychology for close to a decade, having conducted nearly 1,200 supervised forensic evaluations to date, ranging from competency evaluations to psychosexual risk assessments and beyond. He is extensively trained in neuropsychological assessment and frequently conducts ‘forensic neuropsychological’ evaluations, and has also been trained as an investigative psychologist. He received his MA in Forensic Psychology from John Jay (CUNY) and his MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hartford, wherein he is now a fourth year doctoral candidate. In addition to his forensic work, Nathan provides psychotherapeutic and assessment services for those with the most severe presentations of mental illness in the State at the Connecticut Valley Hospital, which he deeply enjoys. With regard to his teaching philosophy, Nathan emphasizes the importance of active, collaborative, and supportive learning environments, but also recognizes that life can be messy and learning is ultimately a lifelong endeavor.
