9.00 Workplace Health and Safety

Effective Date: April 1, 2010 (revised)

It is the policy of the College to provide a safe and healthy environment for its students, faculty, staff and visitors. To this end the College will make every effort necessary to enhance accident prevention, fire protection and preservation of health. The policies contained in this section provide details of those efforts.

In addition to providing our employees and students with a safe and healthy place to work and study, it also is our policy to protect our assets and earnings against the adverse financial impact from physical loss and liability. The continual practice and implementation of effective loss control and loss prevention in our daily activities is consistent with and required by both these policy objectives.

It is the responsibility of each College officer, department manager, supervisor, and other faculty and staff member to ensure that operations and activities are in compliance with these basic policies. The Trinity College Safety Committee, representing various areas of the campus, monitors the College safety program. While the ultimate responsibility rests with College management, the active cooperation, assistance, and implementation by each and every member of the Trinity College community is required.

Any questions or concerns about safety at Trinity should immediately be brought to the attention of the Manager of Environmental Health and Safety.
