Course Description:
This course explores law in political and social contexts. Too often "law" is understood as an independent entity, but in fact it is deeply embedded within politics and society. This course considers that reality by exploring a range of conflicts over the course of American history that expose how law is politically, socially and historically constructed, and display how law shapes politics and culture. |
