Course Description:
This course offers an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the complexities inherent in improving the mental health of justice involved persons. We will examine the relationship between complex social factors including race, education and socioeconomic status to understand why some populations are more vulnerable to justice involvement. Our restorative justice approach includes the role of law enforcement, courts and the corrections systems, probation and parole. |
