Course Description:
1945 has been called Zero Hour - when time resets itself. The Second World War had left Europe in rubble. This course will explore the various ways Europe rebuilt and reformed itself after 1945. Special focus will be placed on the Capitalist West versus the Communist East, but we will also explore topics like popular culture, nationalism and terrorism. Texts will include scholarly articles, memoirs and films.
