Course Description:
This course covers fundamentals of evolutionary biology in theory and practice at both the molecular and organismal level. Students will be introduced to the conceptual premise of biological processes and phenomena like speciation, gene flow, genetic mutation, whole genome evolution, selection, hybridization, and competition. These concepts will be reinforced through analysis of real data using computational tools implemented in R and a Unix environment.
