Course Description:
This course offers an introductory exploration of the field of social psychology, the study of human interaction. Humans are social beings who thrive on healthy connections with others. Studying these connections, interactions, and subsequent effects on human psychology and behavior gives us a more complete and nuanced understanding of ourselves as individuals and society as a whole. Concepts and theories covered in this course include but are not limited to obedience and conformity, prejudice and discrimination, love and attraction, extreme behaviors, and more. A key goal for this course is to develop students' critical thinking skills and research strategies for complex human behavior and various social issues. Mutual respect and civility are expected when taking this course. |
