Course Description:
This course offers students a comprehensive exploration of the theoretical concepts and analytical tools essential for understanding the cultural nuances of diverse societies, focusing on the unique case of Israeli society. Throughout the course, students will examine how historical and political roots shape cultural expressions, encompassing literature, cinema, art, and more.
Additionally, students will explore the theoretical concept of a "state of emergency" and its profound impact on the complex dynamics of Israeli society. Students will gain a theoretical framework for analyzing cultural phenomena and the impact of a "state of emergency" on society, and develop the skills needed to conduct research and engage in critical thinking.
This interactive learning experience is designed to foster the habits essential for successful integration and growth in a Liberal Arts College, and equip students with adaptable tools for understanding and engaging with diverse cultures, promoting cross-cultural understanding and communication. |
