Elizabeth Angowski developed her interest in ethics and literature as an undergraduate at Amherst College and later earned a Ph.D. in the Study of Religion from Harvard University. Her research centers on narrative, gender, and moral formation, with a focus on Tibetan and Himalayan contexts. Her current book project examines the moral and literary dimensions of the early life story of Yeshé Tsogyal, a foundational female figure in Vajrayana Buddhism. Professor Angowski’s translations have been published by 84000, a global initiative to translate the Tibetan Buddhist canon, and some of her recent work appears in Living Treasure (Wisdom Publications) and Revue d’Etudes Tibétaines. As a visiting faculty member at Trinity College, she brings a strong commitment to interdisciplinary teaching and inclusive inquiry.
