Hannah Jones-Gordils received her B.A. in Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University, and her PhD in developmental psychology at the University of Rochester. While at the University of Rochester, Professor Jones-Gordils studied parenting and family processes, specializing in how parent’s cognitive skills can facilitate authoritative parenting practices, and how sociocontextual factors can impact parenting. As a teacher, Professor Jones-Gordils aspires to challenge students to become independent thinkers and learn how to apply classroom content in real-world situations. Professor Jones-Gordils’ experience being mentored as an undergraduate taught her the value of student-faculty communication and collaboration, and thus she attempts to work closely with students to provide encouragement and feedback to help them meet their academic and professional goals.
