Having founded a youth program, Re-imagining and Elevating: Artistic Concepts and Talent (RE:ACT), youth education, advocacy and empowerment comprise some of Terrell’s greater passions.  While an undergrad at Yale University, he explored this work at the Yale-Dixwell Community Learning Center.  As a graduate student, Terrell had the opportunity to design and implement a secondary education and leadership institute led by a team of students whom he trained as program instructors and coordinators. Terrell has also designed curriculum and programming for the Yale-Dixwell Community Learning Center, Annie E. Casey Foundation’s: Making Connections Providence Summer Program, POWER's Community Ties Youth Leadership Program, Stonehill College's PCC Advanced Studies Program, Trinity Rep’s Young Artist’s Summer Institute, The American Place Theatre: Literature to Life Program, the Democracy Prep Charter School of Harlem, The Marymount School and University of California Santa Barbara.

Terrell believes that empowerment and positive expectation are key in the successful teaching environment.  As a theater instructor, he prides himself on appreciating his students’ individual journeys as artists and people.  Terrell hopes that by teaching each student how to use the tools that are uniquely their own, they can encounter theater and performance with the sustained confidence and enjoyment that allows room for the greatest amount of growth.  Terrell aims to help students understand, embrace and gain command of their voice, their physicality and their unique perspective, in order to create conscious, skilled auteurs.
