For environmental, she focuses on understanding the economic and environmental impacts of climate change and international waste trade. On the labor side, she is currently researching job flexibility, e.g. work-at-home and flexible work schedule, as a way of adaptation to extreme environmental conditions.

Wensu finished her Ph.D. program in the Department of Economics at the University of Connecticut in the summer of 2021. She has a master's degree in finance and a bachelor's degree in economics from Sun Yat-sen University, where she started researching the impact of adult children migration on the health and life satisfaction of left-behind elderly parents.
