In addition to being a psychology professor over the past 30 years, Stephen Fagbemi is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Connecticut.  He has practiced as a clinical psychologist at various clinical settings including the VA Hospital in Newington, Wheeler Clinic in Plainville, and at Hartford Behavioral Health in Hartford.  In all the clinical facilities, his responsibilities have included: psychological evaluation and assessment of clients; individual therapy with clients using cognitive-behavioral therapy; and couples, family, & group therapy. He has worked mostly with clients diagnosed with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, parent-child relational problems, marital problems, and substance-related disorders.
 
However, Dr. Fagbemi’s strong interest and passion is in teaching.  He has been an adjunct professor of psychology at the University of Hartford since 1988. He usually teaches Physiological Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Health Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Multicultural Issues in Psychology courses.
