Mark Franklin was the John R. Reitemeyer Professor of International Politics at Trinity College. His BA is from Oxford and his PhD is from  Cornell (1970). He is a past Guggenheim Fellow and Fulbright Scholar, as well as past President of the European Politics and Society section of the American Political Science Association. In September 2006 he moved to the European University Institute in Florence where he became the first holder of the Stein Rokkan Chair in Comparative Politics while on leave from Trinity College from which he retired in 2007.  For more details see www.trincoll.edu/~MarkFranklin.
